Eden Park Clean-Up

Posted February 5, 2017

Code Enforcment, the Sheriff’s Office and Rural Neighborhoods recently participated in a clean-up in and around the Eden Park neighborhood in Immokalee.  Code Enforcement placed dumpsters at Sanders Pines allowing people to dump unwanted items for free.  By the end of the day, residents dumped more than 10 tons of garbage and debris.  The Sheriff’s Office and their weekenders helped unload the garbage and direct traffic.

During the event, a small group of residents picked up garbage along Westclox Street.  Both the desire to improve Immokalee’s appearance and reduce litter were raised in the Eden Park-Esperanza Place (EP2) Plan and by resident leaders.  This joint clean-up between residents, Code Enforcement and the Sheriff’s Office is a step toward addressing that goal.  The EP2 residents will hold another clean-up later this spring.
