Tradewinds Hammocks: 1791 and Counting

Posted June 20, 2019

Tradewinds Interior

Rural Neighborhoods closed on its acquisition of Tradewinds Hammocks in the Florida Keys on May 30th. The 66-unit expired Tax Credit project brings RN’s portfolio to 1,791 units in 8 communities throughout Central and South Florida.  LISC provided a $3.8M first mortgage with secondary financing provided by Florida Housing Finance Corporation and the Monroe County Housing Authority. President Steven Kirk noted, “Rural Neighborhoods has worked hard in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma to establish a beachhead in Key Largo to enable us to more effectively operate throughout the Upper, Middle and Lower Keys.  Tradewinds Hammocks marks our first success – our goal is create more workforce opportunities for rent-overburdened Keys residents.”
