Steven Kirk Joins White House Roundtable

Rural Neighborhoods’ President, Steven Kirk, participated in a White Housing roundtable on rural housing on Wednesday, July 24^th. The policy discussion brought together twenty-five rural and tribal housing professionals from around the country together with leadership from Domestic Policy Council, USDA and HUD. Undersecretary of Agriculture for Rural Development Basil Gooden, HUD Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development Marion McFadden, and senior policy staff sought strategic input on 2025 appropriation initiatives and targeted improvements in departmental operations under current authority.  Kirk and other participants provided constructive comments on evolving multifamily reorganization at USDA and urged streamlining of Rural Development underwriting and preservation efforts financed by non-Federal sources.
